Our History

Aluminium Surface Engineering (Brita Finish Ltd.) celebrated 75 years in business in 2022, demonstrating our reputation as an aluminium treatment specialist. Our growth and continued success result from close attention to customers' needs for high quality products and service, value for money, reliability and speed of turnaround.

Brita Finish Ltd. was founded in 1947 at The Butts, Coventry. By 1949, allied to the aircraft industry based in Coventry, we investigated Hard Anodising and became the first to offer it as a commercial service process in England. We moved to Bodmin Road in 1953 to build a new factory, and our site is now 3,700m² in the heart of England near major motorway links.

In 1989, we were one of the founding members of the International Hard Anodizing Association. We remain Hard Anodisers, and specialists in Sulphuric, Chromic and Titanium Anodising, Nituff, and SurTec 650 and Alocrom 1200 conversion coatings, working in partnership with customers across automotive, aerospace, defence, power, medical and manufacturing sectors.
